No Churn Vanilla & Nutella Ice Cream

no churn vanilla & nutella ice cream

It was the hottest day of the year yesterday, definitely the perfect excuse to make more ice cream – and it had to be something involving minimal effort and zero cooking time. This nutella ice cream definitely ticks those boxes!

This is a ridiculously easy no churn, no ice cream maker recipe that only takes a couple of minutes to make and tastes kind of amazing. I have to warn you though it is dangerously addictive, once you’ve had one spoonful there’s no going back!

The combination of whipped cream and condensed milk keeps the ice cream ultra smooth and creamy and not at all icy – it also stays a really great soft scoop-able consistency no matter how long you freeze it for.

It may have been perfect ice cream eating weather yesterday, but it wasn’t exactly ideal ice cream shooting weather! I had big plans for these photos. . . I carefully lined up cute little ice cream cones filled with baby scoops of ice cream – and then of course they melted pretty much as soon as I turned my camera on! I gave up on my grand photo dreams and just decided to get on with it and share the recipe anyway :) If you are a nutella fan (and really who isn’t?), then you should absolutely give this one a go!

Save Recipe
300g (1 1/4 cups) double cream/ heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
397g (14oz) sweetened condensed milk
200g (7oz) nutella
- Whip together the cream and vanilla until soft peaks form. Gradually whisk in the condensed milk.
- Gently fold in the nutella (don't worry about mixing it in too thoroughly, the less well mixed nutella bits turn in to delicious chocolate chunks!)
- Pour into a freezer-suitable container and freeze for at least 6 hours before serving.

Shooting ice cream is so hard. I always have to just find the time that the lighting is best in the coldest part of my house and make it work. The photos are gorgeous though- I love the first one with the melted ice cream running down the cone. It has me drooling!
